Day 4: Rosa “Explorer”
The sunset was a glorious sight as I stood on a dried river bed of the great Ewaso Nyiro. A few meters ahead, her waters maintained a steady flow, feeding the lives of flora and fauna on this vast part of the Rift Valley. On the other side of the River Ewaso Nyiro, three large crocodiles held silent court with a family of hippos as birds perched on them and flew away in colorful display. My Rose Safari mission was to reach that other side and get a hold of the red rose Explorer.
With her deep red color, the hybrid tea rose Explorer! stood out between greenery in a very fashionable way. Explorer has a large flowerhead and a long stem and opens quite beautifully. Another great discovery during my ongoing Rose Safari
